Troy Richard Klingele

Troy Richard Klingele, fondly known as “Pa” over the past 12 years as a name given to him by his grandkids, had an enormous, loving heart that gave way at home with his wife on April 11, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He was born on June 13, 1957 in Prosser, Washington to Richard and Netta (Trusley) Klingele, and was the second oldest of six children. He graduated from Pasco High in 1975 and married his long-time family friend Darlynda (Hinkle) on December 17, 1977. They were married for a short 46 years, and had two children together, Richard Klingele (Pasco, WA) and Heather Klingele-Smith (Shoreline, WA). He received his Associate of Science at Columbia Basin College in 1977 and his love and knowledge for cars took him to work at Frank & Sons Autobody as a car painter, in Pasco, Washington. He worked there for over 40 years before he retired in 2019. Later, he got a part-time job at AutoZone in Shoreline, Washington as a parts delivery driver.

Throughout his 46-year marriage to Darlynda, they were inseparable. They were soulmates and supported each other through ups and downs and were examples to all of what a loving, caring, and supportive marriage is. They lived in Pasco, Washington until they moved to Mountlake Terrace, Washington in 2019. When Richard and Heather married their spouses, they welcomed Victoria Jimenez and Phillip Smith as bonus children to the family.  Troy’s passion for his family shined bright through his unconditional love and support. He loved to play with his five grandchildren – Trevelen Smith (12), Lali Klingele (11), Lorenzo Klingele (9), Aria Smith (9), and Lalo Klingele (2). He was the fun grandpa and would get on the ground to play imaginary games. He could be found on the sidelines, stands, or wherever his family needed him and was the biggest cheerleader at every activity they had.

Troy was a devoted family man, and was the glue of the family. He put his family first, and always made sure he visited extended family members whenever he could as he enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone. He was the most selfless man and would help anyone who needed it.

Troy leaves behind his wife Darlynda, son Richard, daughter-in-law Victoria and grandchildren Lali, Lorenzo and Lalo, and daughter Heather, son-in-law Phillip, and grandchildren Trevelen and Aria. In addition to his brother and sisters Anna Moffat, Kristina Klingele, Martin Klingele, Doris Klingele, Linda Prine (step-sister), nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends who were his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Joseph Klingele, Netta (Trusley) Klingele, step-father Clint Goodin, brother Art Klingele, step-sister Adriana Hede, and many other loving family and friends.

Services will be held at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Mountlake Terrace on Friday, 4/19 at 2pm, with a viewing an hour before and a gathering afterwards. A celebration of life will occur in Pasco, WA at a later date.
