Teresa “Terri” Agnes Cox, a beloved family member, friend, social worker and advocate, passed away unexpectedly on February 4th, 2023, at Providence Hospital in Everett, following a short illness.

Terri was born in Seattle, WA, on August 11th, 1954, and was raised in the North Seattle suburb of Shoreline. Terri graduated from the University of Washington’s School of Social Work with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, reflecting her passion and commitment to improving the lives of others.

Terri dedicated her life to serving those in need. She worked for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and later for the Veterans Affairs, where she focused on addressing homelessness and providing support for veterans.

Beyond her professional work, Terri was a dear and beloved friend to many. She had a deep love and connection to animals and cared lovingly for her pets until they passed – including Maddy, Cooper, and Reuben. Terri was also a talented and passionate woodworker and had a great love of art and photography, particularly art that depicted the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, where she spent her life.

Terri is survived by her brothers Steve and Jim, and her nephews Jeremiah, David, and Tristen. She is also survived by her beloved canine companion Cindy and numerous friends and extended family members. Terri was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Pauline, and her brothers Bob and Jerry.

Terri’s passing was unexpected and came too soon. She will be missed by all who knew her as family, friend, or advocate. Her life will be celebrated and remembered. Her family is proud of her legacy and all the work and care she put into advocacy and support for others.
