Stephen Compton

Stephen Joseph Compton was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the first born son of Gary and Anne Compton. Stephen is survived by his two younger siblings Michael N. Compton and Terri L. Hintz. As a young man Stephen enjoyed riding bikes, hunting snakes, playing the bass and collecting rock music memorabilia. His all time favorite band was KISS, but he loved all types of music, especially the rock music genre. He also enjoyed watching movies and singing. He studied for a time under renowned vocal teacher David Kyle. As an adult Stephen built an impressive career at United Parcel Service, working in a variety of positions over a 33 year span. His strong work ethic and tenacious determination helped him create a solid foundation to build his family. As a younger man Stephen met and married his wife Julie Compton (Howser) and the two moved into a home in Buckley, WA. Together they had four boys, Michael, Hunter, Jordan and Daniel. Stephen is survived by three of his children, Michael, Hunter and Daniel. His son Jordan passed away at birth, and his wife Julie passed away in 2022. It was at this time that Stephen retired from his job and focused on spending time with his kids. On August 5, 2026 Stephen left this world to reunite with his predeceased loved ones, following a year and half battle with complications from a stroke. From the beginning of Stephen’s life he was challenged with adversity, in fact many doctors didn’t think he would survive when he was born three months premature. No matter the challenges he faced, he found a way to keep moving forward. Along that journey Stephen received many blessings from God, and now he’s been called home. He died peacefully at his nursing home with his brother and sister by his side. He will be remembered and missed for the great son, brother, father and human being that he was. Godspeed Stephen, we love you.
