Stanley S. Berman, 92, of Bellevue, Washington, passed peacefully into heaven on November 25, 2025, surrounded by family.
Stan was born on December 18, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from high school, he moved to Oregon to attend Pacific University’s School of Optometry, where he met the love of his life, Jackie.
Stan became an optometrist, married Jackie, and in 1964 they made Bellevue, Washington, their home. There, he built a fulfilling career as an optometrist and entrepreneur while being a devoted husband and father.
Stan was known for his optimism, friendships, love of boating, skiing and traveling. He worked hard so he and his family could travel and almost always encouraged friends to come along to share in the adventures.
He is loved and remembered by his three daughters, Janice, Laura, and Linda, his granddaughter, Jennie, several nieces and nephews, dear friends, and caregivers. He is now reunited with his wife, Jackie, and grandson, Jeff.
Stan was laid to rest beside Jackie on November 27, 2025, at Union Cemetery in Cedar Mill, Oregon. And a celebration of Stan’s life was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, aboard the Sightseer Boat while cruising on Lake Washington.
Over the course of his 92 years, Stan built a remarkably full life. There was hard work, certainly, but also enjoyment — skiing. sailing, world travel, family trips, parties, friendships, good meals, laughter, and love of his family and friends.
He approached life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always wanting to experience a little more of the world and bring the people he loved along with him.
Even in his later years, Stan had a sunny personality and was fun and pleasant to be around. His optimism, adventurous spirit, and love of life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
