Russell Roy Key
Russell Roy Key, 55, passed away on April 5, 2026, surrounded by love.
Born in Seattle, Washington, and raised in Renton, Russell grew into a man defined by kindness, curiosity, and quiet generosity.
He pursued his education with the same thoughtful dedication he brought to every part of his life, attending the University of Washington and later earning a master’s degree from Seattle University. Russell spent most of his professional career in the biotechnology industry, where he applied his talent for data analysis to support meaningful scientific work and help advance discoveries that mattered.
A devoted husband to Donna, and cherished son of Robert and Rosemary, Russell carried a gentle spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Russell found joy in astrophotography, capturing the night sky with a sense of wonder that never faded. He was an accomplished fencer and an avid golfer, pursuits that reflected both his discipline and his appreciation for challenge and focus. At home, he loved to bake, especially anything that involved chocolate, a simple pleasure he delighted in sharing with others.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, his parents, Robert and Rosemary, his brother, Roger, Roger’s wife, Amy, and their children, Hannah and Logan, all of whom will carry his memory forward with deep affection.
A memorial service celebrating Russell’s life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bellevue Church of Christ.
Russell’s warmth, creativity, and gentle spirit leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who loved him. His memory will continue to shine quietly and steadily, like the stars he admired so deeply.
