Robertson, Louise – August 12, 2008

Louise Dorothea Schmidt ROBERTSON

Born March 4, 1923, in Bemidji Minnesota, Louise passed away August 12, 2008 in Seattle Wa, after a rich and full life.

Louise grew up in the logging town of Klickitat, Washington. She got her nursing degree from University of Washington, and helped many through her public health and mental health nursing work. She raised 5 children of whom she was very proud, and had 3 much-loved grandsons. Louise was very active in the Lutheran Church all her life. Besides church and family, painting became a passion in her later years. Her world travels, and even her marriage to high school friend Francis Hills 5 years ago, fit her commitment to “lifelong learning”. After marrying Francis, she moved to his home in Dallesport and built a new network of friends and activities, learned to dance, exhibited her paintings in the local galleries, and inherited 2 granddaughters. Her life challenged those who knew and loved her to keep on living, learning, and growing.

Preceded in death by her brother Roland Schmidt MD and sister Theresa Saavedra. Survivors include her husband, Francis Hills, brother Hugo (Shirley) Schmidt, sons, Bruce, Paul (Kari), and Ian (Trina), daughters, Ruth Burrus and Ann, and grandsons, Owen, Evan and Alex.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept 4th at 1 pm, at Queen Anne Lutheran Church. Memorial donations can be made to Queen Anne Lutheran Church, Seattle WA.
