Robert E. Corrigan

Robert E. Corrigan, retired accountant and lifelong resident of Seattle and Bellevue, died peacefully on March 23, 2012. He was 87.  Bob graduated from Seattle Prep and the University of Washington.   As a child, Bob enjoyed several family traditions – his father preparing Thanksgiving turkey on the coal stove; walking to Pike Place market with his aunt, and riding streetcars all around Seattle.  Bob served in the US Army in WWII, stationed in the Philippines and Okinawa, earning a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Philippine Liberation Medal.  On Jun 29, 1950, he married Maryan Shaw and together they raised 5 daughters. Family was the joy of his life.  Bob loved reading and had a lifelong passion for learning.  Bob also enjoyed gardening and could always be seen tending to his yard on warm summer days.  Bob is survived by Maryan, his wife of 61 years; 5 daughters – Katie, Pat, Janet, Barb, and Mo; 4 sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren.  A private funeral mass was held at St. Louise Church with internment at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle.
