Richard is survived by Marnie, his wife of 26 years, son Ryan 23, daughter Ashley 20, mother Ingrid Johnson, father Roger McCabe, brother Tim Newton, sisters Angela Rasmussen and Hannah McCabe and many other relatives.  He also had many friends and co-workers, both new and old, who will miss him.

He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1988.  Richard was a hard worker who landed his first job at Albertsons when he was 14.  He worked at La Mexicana, United Building Services, Boeing and the Machinists Union as a Business Rep until his death.

Richard lived in the Burien/White Center area for most of his life.  He was a charming and friendly people person.  He loved his family, friends, community and helping others.

He was active at St. Bernadette Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, in the Knights of Columbus and as a past member of the parish council.

His years at Boeing/Machinists Union include: Wingline Mechanic, Renton IAM member 25 years, Business Rep since 2012, past District Council Delegate, past Local 751-A Recording Secretary, past Renton HSI Site Safety Committee, past District Audit, Local 751-A Audit, picket captain 2005 & 2008, Chair Advisory Board – White Center Salvation Army, Coordinator Toy & Joy & Back to School Shopping Event, Community Service Volunteer, Organizing Volunteer and Legislative Volunteer.

(From your Aunt Verona: Dearest Richard, We are grateful for your life even as we mourn your death. We laugh at our memories even as we cry for those not made. We recognize the beauty in life even as we experience its sorrow.  We live even as we grieve.)

We are heart broken and cannot image life without Richard.  Service at 11:00am Wednesday, May 25th at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Burien.  Reception to follow.
