Rene Tulio Santini

Rene Tulio Santini

Rene Tulio Santini was born on January 20, 1933, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, to Ermelinda Cesaroni Santini and Luigi Santini, formerly of Lucrezia, Italy. He passed away on July 19, 2019 at the age of 86.

He attended Woonsocket High School and graduated in 1950 in the science course of study. In 1952, he joined the US Coast Guard. In 1955 through 1956, he manned USCG Loran Station Cape Christian, in the realm of the Arctic Circle as an electronic technician.

He proceeded to earn his Associate in Science degree from Roger Williams Junior College in Rhode Island in 1959. While going to school evenings, raising a family, and working full time for the Monsanto Chemical Company in Springfield, Massachusetts, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Engineering and Management from Western New England College in 1963.

Rene found his niche by combining his dedication and passion for helping others, along with his engineering and technology understanding, as a human resources professional with an expertise in staffing of all levels. In the 1970’s through 1990’s, he recruited for companies such as Data General, Nuclear Metals, and Motorola Codex, particularly in software/hardware engineering, IT, manufacturing, finance, marketing, sales, and HR. He retired as director of staffing at Motorola Codex in Mansfield, MA in 1996.

In 1996, he started RTS Contract Staffing and continued until he had a stroke in 2010. Even after his stroke he continued to give back and help others with career counseling. That was his gift.

Rene’s greatest joy came from listening to people and their stories they would share. He would selflessly help others when needed, especially his family. He was curious, inquisitive, caring, always interested, and very humble. He loved to learn and had great faith. He also liked to “hit a bucket of balls” or golf, anything Italian especially the food and conversation, play bocce, listen and dance to jazz, and listen to opera.

Rene most recently has been living at Mill Creek Retirement Community in Mill Creek, WA near his son and his family.

Survivors include Rosemary Santini, children: Laura Santini, Gregory Santini, and Christine Santini, their spouses Barry Davis, Amy Santini, and Dennis Spaeth, 6 grandchildren: Lia Santini, Dominic Santini, Isabel Santini, Brent Davis, Timothy Spaeth, and Carina Spaeth, neices Sandra Santini and Cathy Lemieux, nephew Christopher Santini, and 3 grand dogs and two grand cats.
