Paula Kathleen Dekker

Paula Kathleen Dekker (née Schorr) died suddenly at Evergreen Hospital, Kirkland, Washington on October 14, 2021.

Paula was born at the Group Health Hospital, Seattle Washington July 2, 1951, to Jack E. and Mary M. Schorr.

She attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1969. She went on to earn an AA degree from Bellevue Community College and also attended Western Washington University.

Paula married Donald Greig Dekker on October 26, 1974, on Guemes Island, Washington. Paula and Donald had one son, Greig Boyd Dekker born April 3, 1980.

Paula worked as a retail clerk for ten years and then as an administrator with the Group Health Cooperative in the Home Health and Hospice division.

She retired in 2017 to her log home on Ames Lake where she resided for 42 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack E. and Mary M. Schorr of Bellevue.

Paula loved all nature and she loved growing flowers and admiring their beauty. She was a highly talented artist at Quilting and has blessed us with her beautiful works of art.

Paula is survived by her son, Greig Dekker, brothers John, Boyd and Ken Schorr, and many relatives and friends.

Paula is the heart of our family. No words can explain how much we will miss her. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for being a kind, devoted and caring sister, aunt, and mother.

No services will be held at this time.
