Paul Michael Hoover

Paul Michael Hoover, 73, of Renton, Washington passed away unexpectedly in his home on February 4, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Hedy, his eldest son Ryan and his wife Wendy and their two children Payton and Mayson. Second born son Kyle and his wife Megan and their two children Sawyer and Colter. Third son, Travis, and daughter Kaitlyn Bloom and her husband Jason. He is also survived by his two sisters, Nancy Yakamovich and Diana McLean and many nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends too numerous to count. He is also survived by his little miniature schnauzer, Mitzi, whom he adored.

Paul served in the United States Marine Corp and a military tribute is expected to be scheduled this fall. Paul’s aircraft experience in the Marine Corp was put to use in his career at Delta Air Lines where he worked from April 1973 to December 2004. He retired and then went to work for Alaska Airlines and retired a second time in February 2019.

His interests over the years included church activities with his young family, bowling, and golfing. He coached his boys’ teams in little league baseball, built cars for their derby races and later, opened a used car lot with Jim Weigel from church.

He walked his princess Kaitlyn down the aisle when she married Jason. He made people laugh with a fun sense of humor, and played cards with the boys and all their friends when they got bigger. Sadly, he suffered much illness after retiring, but the day he died, he was in great spirits, smiling and joking and very happy over a successful surgery earlier that week.

A celebration of life service will be held at Seattle Revival Center in Newcastle, Washington on Friday, February 24th at 4PM.
