Nora Marie Williams (71) of Seattle, WA, passed away after a brief illness at her home on January 2, 2023.

She was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 20, 1951, and grew up in Caro, Michigan.

She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Adrian, Michigan prior to attending Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mercy College and Wayne State University in Detroit before she relocated to the west coast.

She was preceded in death by her parents H. Douglas L. Williams and Beth LeBar Williams, a brother, Douglas L. Williams (Nancy) of Bothell, WA, and a sister, Nancy M. Hand (Gary).

She is survived by her remaining siblings, Timothy P. of Denver, CO; David M. (Marie) of Ann Arbor MI; Beth M. Williams (Bruce Turunen) of Portland, OR; Mary J. Williams, of Wheeling, WV; and John P. (Margaret) of Rockville, MD.

Nora spent most of her adult life in the Seattle area.  She loved her family, the Pacific Northwest, hiking, camping, sailing, gardening, sewing, and animals, especially bunnies. She was a lovely person, intelligent, funny, kind, talented, and resourceful, and the strongest person her siblings ever knew. Her life was unbelievably difficult, yet she met it with grace, courage and strength. We loved her dearly and she will be mourned forever by us and all who knew her.

Arrangements are being handled by Barton Family Funeral Service in Kirkland, WA. A private service will be held later at the family’s convenience.
