Mary Bragiel
Mary Bragiel, of Lynnwood, WA passed peacefully with her family by her side on September 7, 2026.
She was born on April 27, 1962 to Doris and Theodore Strandrud in Seattle, WA. Mary accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. Mary worked at Seattle Stoneware where she met Grant. They married on October 4, 1985. They had three beautiful children. She was proud to be homemaker taking care of them. She homeschooled the twin boys in their high school years.
Growing up, she lived in various East Coast states and for a short time in New Zealand, which sparked her love for travel. She loved Europe, East Coast historic sites & So. California, but her favorite vacation spot was Maui.
Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished aunt. She was a remarkable woman whose intelligence, kindness, and love touched the lives of her family and friends. She was absolutely brilliant and had a genuine love of learning.
Mary was an avid reader and especially enjoyed history, autobiographies, biographies and documentaries. She had a wonderful appreciation for the past and could spend many hours exploring stories, people, and events from history. Mary had a knack for linguistics and picking up on different languages quickly. Mary greatly enjoyed crabbing, family picnics, and holiday gatherings. She & Shaina also loved going to country music concerts.
Above all, Mary treasured her family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a beloved aunt whose presence will be deeply missed. Her family will remember her not only for the love she gave them, but for her brilliant mind, her love of books and history, and the many special moments they shared together.
Her love extended beyond people to animals. Mary adored her rescued dog, Lexie, and over Mary’s life she often had a cat. Her pets brought her tremendous joy, and she cared for each of them with the same warmth and affection she gave to her family.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, knowledge, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Grant Bragiel of Lynnwood, son’s, Rick Bragiel of Edmonds and Bryan Bragiel of Lynnwood, niece-daughters Bekah and Sarah; Son-in-law Shane Collins; Brother, Timothy Strandrud; Mother in-law, Rose Bragiel, Brother in-laws Mike, Dean, Ken (Selene), Jim, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shaina, her father, mother, father in-law, sister in-law, Karen, and Bekah’s son, Seth.
A Memorial will be held in memory of Mary on October 10, 2026 at 5pm at Bright City Church in Everett, WA
