Adrian C. Klinkenberg
Adrian C. Klinkenberg, aged 92, went home to his Heavenly Father on March 26, 2026, in Redmond, Washington. Born on April 10, 1933, in Chignik, Alaska. Adrian lived a remarkable life defined by his wisdom, humor, and an insatiable zest for learning.
Adrian loved his family first and foremost, and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Georgia; their eight children: Traci (Jim), Jill (Jim), Bridgett (Mark), John (Maggie), Paul (Marci), Andrea (Paul), Erica (Spence), and David (Dianna); as well as 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Adrian also leaves behind his sister Esther, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who cherished his presence in their lives.
Adrian was an entrepreneur and business owner specializing in commercial landscape and irrigation design. He had a long career and retired from his last business, Design 24/26, in 2016. His professional expertise in landscape architecture was mirrored by a deep love and appreciation for arboriculture, and his rhododendrons were his pride and joy.
Adrian was a renaissance man with a passion for cooking, fine wine and food, music, photography, reading and the NY Times crossword. His creativity and passion for learning shaped not only his own life but also the lives of those around him. Adrian was a character and he imparted witty sayings and valuable lessons with sincerity and enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Adrian’s legacy is one of love, strength, creativity, love of nature and God’s creation and a deep appreciation for family values. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Ducks Unlimited or Holy Family Parish Kirkland where he was a parishioner for over 50 years.
May Adrian’s memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing and celebrate the extraordinary life he lived.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
