Frank Westgate

Frank L. Westgate, of Kirkland WA., passed away on March 13, 2026, at 90 years of age.

Born on October 19th, 1935 in South Gate, California. Frank graduated from Rosemead High School in 1954.

Frank served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959 as a Personnelman Second Class (PN2) aboard a Landing Ship, Tank (LST). He worked in the Personnel Enlisted Distribution Office during his last year of service.

Frank moved to Washington after the World’s Fair in 1962. He worked as a lithographer in the printing industry; in production, sales, and then ownership of ColorControl, Lasercolor, and Wescan Color.

He lived on Vashon Island before emigrating to Israel for 14 months with 5 adopted young children: Joel, Hilma, Micah, Tirzah, and Ethan.

When they returned to the United States in 1969, they moved to their present home in Kirkland.

Frank married Alice Jane Bierlink in 1980. Alice joined his family with her two children, Timothy Groenig and Michelle Sumner.

Frank was an active member of Kelsey Creek Church and regularly attended men’s Bible Study. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and traveling the world with his wife, Alice.

He was a proud grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 13!

Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alice Westgate, and children: Tirzah Brooks (Les), Ethan Westgate (Dulcinea Frank), Tim Groenig (Michelle), and Michelle Sumner (Phillip). He was preceded in death by his children Joel Westgate, Hilma Westgate, and Micah Westgate.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 4th, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Kelsey Creek Church; 1221 148th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98007.
