Millie Smoot

Millie passed away peacefully in Redmond, WA, due to natural causes.  She had a long life at 95 years of age.  Millie was born in Glenwood, MN, married first to Richard Schaub, and later to Marvin Smoot.  She lived in Morris, MN, Madelia, MN, Brooklyn Center, MN, then moved to Redmond, WA in 2012 to be near her daughter and family.

Millie will be remembered for her determined nature, birthday cards, ginger cookies, and love of her family. She worked in various jobs, but 30 years in the credit department at Dayton’s in Minneapolis, MN.  Before moving to WA, she spent years traveling to Redmond in the summer and at Christmas, baking and doing needlepoint with the grand-kids.  She loved going to the casino, reading, and going out to eat.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane, and her husband Dennis Obermeier of Redmond, WA; her granddaughter, Jennifer Scoccolo and her husband, Mark, of Lake Tapps, WA, and their three children: Salena, Luca, and Estella; her grandson, Ryan Obermeier, and his wife, Katy, of Seattle, WA, and their daughters, Rylan and Madelyn; her daughter-in-law, Sandy (Meyer) Schaub, of Kimberly, WI; grandson, Michael Larson, of St. Cloud, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
