Mike was born in Minneapolis MN, the third of seven children.  When the family moved West, Mike attended St. Francis of Assisi School in Burien and graduated from Kentridge High School.

Mike had a long career as a longshoreman with the Port of Seattle and loved his second family of ILWU Union brothers and sisters.  Mike ran marathons (Honolulu, New York City, etc.), summited Mount Rainier, and was one of the first students enrolled in the Seattle Paragliding School, becoming a fervent and lifelong member of the Tiger Mountain Paragliding Group, traveling the globe for countless paragliding adventures.

Mike was a great brother to the family he loved dearly, always at family gatherings and sharing in his brothers’ and sisters’ big events. He is survived by his sister Joan Spring of Kent, brother Jim Freeman of Issaquah, sister Kate Koppa of Fall City, brother Tom Freeman of Bremerton and sister Kelly Hill of Kent.  He is preceded in death by his parents George and Elaine Freeman and his brother Rick Freeman of Kent.  Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
