Mary Anne Hevly
Mary Anne Hevly, a devoted mother, grandmother, and servant to her community, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Seattle on January 25, 1937, to Henry and Margaret Howard, Mary Anne grew up in Kent, Washington. Her strong work ethic developed early, spending childhood summers working in local fields to help pay for her education. She attended St. Anthony’s Grade School and Holy Rosary High School before pursuing higher education at Seattle University.
In 1960, Mary Anne married the love of her life, Bob Hevly. The couple began their married life in Seattle before buying their longtime family home in Bellevue, Washington, where they raised their four children. Throughout her professional life, Mary Anne brought her intelligence and warmth to roles at Qantas Airways, Kelly Girls, and Boeing.
Upon retirement, Mary Anne and Bob moved to a golf club community, Brae Burn, where she took up golf so they could enjoy the sport together. Retirement also allowed Mary Anne to deeply invest in her passion for serving others. She dedicated 15 years as a secretary at St. Louise Catholic Church and spent over 15 years volunteering for the Jubilee Reach Thrift Store, where she lovingly prepared jewelry for sale.
Mary Anne is survived by her loving children, Cathy, Patty, Mark, and Kellie; her sons-in-law, Chris Lamb and Nick Rich; her granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Megan, and Alexis; and her grandson-in-law, Kristjan Pedersen. She also leaves behind a large, cherished extended family who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Hevly; her parents, Henry and Margaret Howard; her siblings, Christie Brown and Jim Howard; and her daughter-in-law, Heather (Lani) Shields Hevly.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Louise Catholic Church, located at 141 156th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98007. A reception will follow the service.
