Lois Mason Carter

Lois Mason Carter, age 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away with her family by her side on February 10, 2013.

She was a long time resident of Bellevue, WA, married to Randolph Mason for 40 years. She met Randy at the USO in Washington D.C. She remarried to Dale Carter later in life and they made their home in Las Vegas where Dale Carter passed away a few years ago. Lois had met Dale in grade school and they were high school sweethearts that rekindled their love at their 50th high school reunion. Lois had only just moved to Woodinville to be with her family. She was here a little over week before she went to the hospital. We were so blessed to have her in our home for her last days.

Lois is also predeceased by her parents, Vera and Fred Henk and one brother, Bob Henk, and a great grandchild named Korbin Love. She is survived by her two children, Pamela Gaulke of Woodinville, WA, husband Brent and Fred Mason of Bellevue, WA. She will be greatly missed by her 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Roland, Jackson Gaulke, and Nicholas Mason, and one great grandchild, all of Washington.  She also had Chelsea Scherschael, and Lisa Love.  Lois had so many great friends, both in Las Vegas and Washington State, Pam, Phillis, Sandy, Mary Ellen, Bobby, Dixie, Harry, and many others. She wanted her friends to know how grateful she was to have had them as a part of her life. Lois loved bridge. She was a grand life master, which is a very special honor in bridge. Lois played and won many tournaments all over the United States. She was an avid reader and would read two to three books at a time. Many people didn’t know that she worked for the FBI for four years in Washington D.C. She is waiting for all her family and friends to join her someday to celebrate the Kingdom of Heaven. Until then, she was up there playing bridge with the inventor of the game and kicking his butt.
