Linda Denise (Cook) Hauta of Issaquah, WA passed away due to complications with her lungs and kidneys at Virginia Mason, Seattle on February 27, 2024. We are comforted by the family and friends that were able to surround her with love during her last days.

Her daughter, Adrienne Stine (Chris) of Grand Lake, CO  and grandson, Franklin Stine survived Linda upon her death. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Lyle Cook of Seattle, WA, sister Jan Robb of Issaquah, WA, and niece Mikala Moreau (Mathew) of Shawnee, KS.

Linda was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 23, 1949 to Jesse and Helma Cook. She grew up in Renton, WA graduating from Renton High School in 1967. She then attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Although, after student teaching with 6th graders she did not pursue education as her profession.

After over 40 years, Linda retired from Puget Sound Energy (PSE). She met and married William (Bill) Hauta in 1974 after meeting him at Puget Power (as it was then known). Bill and Linda would divorce after over 25 years of marriage. However, their love of their daughter united them even after their separation. Linda held various roles at PSE and ended her successful career as a Senior Budget Analyst. She would say the friendships that she made during her career were the most important.

Linda enjoyed much about life. As an avid reader her book club was an integral part of her well being. She could often be found at the movies with a tub of popcorn or attending musicals/plays. Planning and partaking in her travels around the United States and Europe was another of her passions.

Although her favorite pastime was being with her family and friends playing games, catching up, and if possible gifting them with the perfect little something. Linda doted on her only grandson, Franklin. But, she was always involved with her extended family’s kids and grandkids.

An open house celebration of life is planned  Tuesday, March 5th between 3 pm and 5 pm at the Clubhouse in Providence Point (). Please consider carpooling as nearby parking is limited.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider contributing to the American Diabetes Association.

Linda Denise Hauta will be missed forever, but we are blessed by the impact she had on all our lives.

“Do not fear death, but rather the unlived life. You don’t have to live forever, you just have to live.”—Tuck Everlasting
