Laurel Erin Dunham

Laurel Erin Dunham (65) of Renton, WA, passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer on June 3, 2023.

She was born in Ellensburg, WA on March 17, 1958 and grew up in Ellensburg.  Many will remember her as Laurie Dunlop.

Laurel graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg and immediately began working in the retail world at The Bon Marche before rising to become a buyer and manager at Nordstrom.  She spent several years in sales, marketing and customer management with medical Lab companies and Senior Living organizations.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chuck Dunlop and Sally Dunlop.

She is survived by her husband Thomas of Renton, WA, brothers Patrick (Terri) of North Bend, WA, Dan (Vicky) of Newcastle, WA, Chris (Arla) of Yakima, WA, and sister Cathy Dyk (Curtis) of Ellensburg, WA as well as many nieces and nephews and their children.

Being born on St Patricks Day and having the middle name Erin made that day, combined with her birthday, the most celebratory day of the year, and often extended for the whole month.  Irish bars were visited, Drum and Pipe bands were seen, and numerous pictures were taken.  Laurel was very outgoing, could talk to anyone, and was a lifelong loyal friend to many, many fellow classmates, co-workers, and distant family members.    Laurel loved family events, loved travelling but most of all she was completely loved and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Laurel leaned on her faith in Jesus to carry her through these last two years. We can rejoice that Laurel is safe in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ in her Heavenly home.

Arrangements are being handled by Barton Family Funeral Service in Renton, WA.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Mercer Creek Church in Ellensburg on June 24, 2023 at 1 pm. Those attending are encouraged to wear green.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harmony Hill Healing Retreat in Union, WA.
