October 14, 1935 to July 1, 2024
Joan A. Riser, 88, a Gig Harbor resident since 2006, died in the presence of family singing Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) on July 1st, 2024. She was a strong Christian woman who helped many others in need. Loving and generous to all, we will all miss her dearly.
Her parents were John Anderson and Hazel Curry Anderson. She was born in Kirkland, Washington, and raised in Redmond, Washington, graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1953, and eventually met her loving husband, Donald Riser. They lived in Seattle and raised their five beautiful children there. They adhered to a simple Christian life throughout both the good times and the hard times.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Riser. She is survived by her brother John Anderson; her 5 children; Christopher, Jan, Conni, David and Jon; her 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her family and friends will celebrate her life and love, Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at Bible Baptist Church, 6703 Bethel Rd SE, Port Orchard, WA.
Instead of gifts, flowers or donations, Joan would prefer that you donate to your local Christian charity. Her lifelong desire was to show forth the love of Jesus Christ and to spread the word that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that to be saved we need to believe in Him, confess our sins, and accept Him as Lord and Savior.
