Jean Medina

Jean Marie Medina, née Latourette Packo, passed in her sleep December 23 after spending a beautiful day with family in Bellevue Washington.

Jean was born in Seattle 3 May 1927 to Livingston Booth Latourette and Ruth Louisa Bailey who preceded her as well as her siblings (Harold Kenneth, Patricia Anne, Mary Lou, Therese Cecile), two husbands (John Edward Packo and Ronald Medina), and a son (Robert Erich Packo).

While at Whitman college as a member of the sorority delta delta delta with her sisters, she met her husband and father to her children, John. They were married 16 Aug 1952 at twenty five years of age. Four years later they welcomed their first son John David. Robert Erich and William Howard Latourette followed in 1958 and 1960. She was a hardworking and loving mother. After 25 years of marriage John Edward passed away in 1977.

She Married Ronald Medina in the fall of 1989.

In the early 70’s Jean started working for congressman Joel Pritchard as office manager and followed by working with senator Dan Evans.

Jean’s hobbies were playing cards especially bridge, philanthropy, and being with her family whom she loved deeply. Her philanthropic heart led her to the Ryther organization which she was president of and served as part of the charity most of her life.

She was tenacious, hard working, never settled, and worked for everything she had. To her family and loved ones she was kind, thoughtful, loving, and always offered advice.

She is survived by her sons (John David (Pamela) and William Howard Latourette (Monique)) daughter in law Bonnie Jean, three grandchildren (Moana Jean Packo, Julia Michelle Niver (Garrett), and John Donald Packo) as well as her great granddaughter Huntley Mae Niver and her much loved nieces and nephews.
