James Ruslan Greene, beloved son of Meg Maroney and Michael Greene, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2023 at the age of 22.

James was a fourth-year student in the Carson School of Business at Washington State University.   He was awarded his bachelor’s degree posthumously after being cited as a member of the President’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2020.   He was born in Novosibirsk, Russia on March 26, 2001 and became part of our family in April of 2002.  He attended Audubon Elementary, Rose Hill Middle School, and Lake Washington High School where he participated in track and field, cross-country and football his freshman and sophomore years.

He completed high school with recognition as part of the National Honor Roll.   He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, studying Chinese language (in preparation for a career in International Business), being an online entrepreneur and producing and creating eight of his own ambient music albums ().

He was a collector of religious and medieval artwork. He was loyal and generous with friends. He was a giver of thoughtful and sometimes extravagant gifts.

He will be deeply missed by grandmother, Mary Maroney; Aunt Eileen and Uncle John Janecki; Aunt Moira Maroney and her partner Jim Redmond; first cousins, Caroline (Janecki) and her husband Tanner Bowers and Annie Janecki; Grand Aunts and Uncles, Kathleen and Kevin Rice and Rosemary McManus and his close friends.  He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Annie and Patrick Greene, maternal grandfather James Maroney and grand uncle John McManus who met him on the other side.

We will hold a Celebration of his Life at a later date in our home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hazelden-Betty Ford Centers for addiction recovery (https://www.hazeldenbettyford.org/ways-to-give).
