Jack Russell Jeffreys

Jack was a WWII veteran assigned to the European theater as a belly gunner in a B-24 Liberator. Although he could have been sent home after 26 missions, he elected to stay as he wanted to get in 30. As Jack told me “the damn war ended before I could get 30 and ended up with 29”.

In his early 30’s, he took over the running of the family grocery store after the death of his father. Subsequent jobs included a fuel station owner, restaurant owner and a ranch manager. His greatest passion in life was fishing. Ocean, river, stream, lake – it didn’t matter as long as he had a rod and reel in his hands.

He was preceded in death by his wife Viola and is survived by his son, John Jeffreys of San Jose, nephew John Collum of Kirkland, Granddaughter Tessa of San Jose and Grandson Jason of San Jose.
