Ina Wilson
Ina M. Wilson, of Kellogg, ID, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the age of 84.
Born in Spokane, Washington in 1935, Ina Marie (referred to by her parents and childhood friends), was raised in Kellogg Idaho by Lester and Ethelene Decker. Ina was nine when her father passed related to his work at the Bunker Hill mines. After that Ina and her mother moved to a small home next door to the Bunker Hill “staff house” (now a museum) where Ina’s mother cooked and Ina served all the meals for the higher-ups and management of the mine. This is where Ina learned many of her homemaking skills that she (tried to) pass on to her three girls, such as proper setting of a table and folding napkins and linens (who knows how to properly fold a fitted sheet? Ina does.). She attended the University of Idaho where she met and then married Albert (“Lefty”) Wilson in 1956.
As a homemaker for Lefty and their three daughters she was frugal and a talented sewer, making many of her and her girls every-day and holiday outfits and costumes. She loved competition, however, not among her girls, encouraging their different extra-curricular activities while working miscellaneous part-time jobs through their high school years to help cover the costs.
Ina and Lefty were married over 62 years before Lefty passed away shortly before Ina, on April 24, 2019. They have three daughters, Nancy Manes (Loren), Julie Hachtel (Charles) and Stacy Guinasso (“Joey” predeceased Lefty and Ina), seven grandchildren, Steven Rutherford, Daniel Rutherford (Nyket), Sarah Murphy (Ryan), Jennifer Rose (Chris), Michael Scott, Vinny Guinasso and Julietta Guinasso, and six great grandchildren with the seventh on the way.
