George R. Farquhar

George Rhea Farquhar, age 95, formerly a resident of Prescott, AZ and husband to the late Marion A. Farquhar passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Kirkland, WA.  George was born October 5, 1927, in Indianapolis, IN.

George is survived by his four adult children, Rocky Farquhar (Amy) of Garland, TX; Kenny Farquhar (Mary) of Buena Park, CA; Larry Farquhar (Connie) of Prescott, AZ; and Wendy (Farquhar) Ayers (Kenny) of Snohomish, WA; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

George is a graduate of Harbor College in Los Angeles, CA, and served in the U.S. Marines during the WW11 and Korean Wars.  Prior to his retirement and his move to Prescott in 1992, George lived and raised his family in Torrance, CA while working for Northrop Aircraft for 33 years as an Aircraft Mechanic and Manufacturing Engineer/Planner.  He loved to travel and spent many years camping with his family.  He had many hobbies:  square dancing, woodworking. leatherworking as well as collecting and making hobby guns.

In 2020 George’s daughter Wendy, and son-in-law Kenny, moved George to Washington where he lived a year with them and then two years at Madison Assisted Living in Kirkland, WA.  The family wishes to thank Madison Assisted Living for their love and care of their beloved father.

Arrangements are being handled by Barton’s Family Funeral Service in Kirkland, WA, and Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott, AZ. George will be laid to rest in Prescott at the Mountain View Cemetery with his beloved Marion.
