Gary Lewis, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Seattle, Washington, in October 1951, to the late James and Barbara Baechler Lewis of Shoreline, Washington.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Denise Christian Lewis, sharing in life’s joys and challenges. Together, they created a bond that was a testament to enduring love and commitment.

He will be deeply missed by his sons, Michael Lewis (Teresa) of Lynnwood, WA, and Jason Lewis of Butte, MT. Gary was also a loving grandfather to JV, Jamie, Justin, and Jade, who brought him joy and laughter.

Gary leaves behind a legacy of love and kinship with his siblings: Debi Loyd (Steve) of New Westminster, BC; Lori Davis of La Jolla, CA; Shari Arnesen of Woodinville, WA; David Lewis (Dana) of Edmonds, WA; Dan Lewis (Priscilla) of Shoreline, WA and multiple nieces and nephews. His bond with his siblings was strong and enduring throughout his life’s journey.

Gary enjoyed a successful career with Boeing where he worked for 30 years. During his career at Boeing, he enjoyed collaborating with teams in Seattle, Kent, West Virginia, and Florida.

In addition to his family, Gary leaves behind a multitude of friends and acquaintances. He will be remembered fondly for his love of handball, gardening, reading, and kayaking.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be announced by his family later this spring on the Barton Family Funeral Service website. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society in Gary’s honor.

Though Gary may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024.  Please contact the family for details.
