Donald Lee Adamson

Donald Lee Adamson, 80, of Renton, Washington passed away on January 17, 2013.

 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Roberta Adamson, their three children: Ronald Adamson, Sherry Adamson(Dean Tucker), and David Adamson.  He also leaves behind two grandchildren (Michelle Wiseman and Michael Wiseman).

 

Donald was born in Burlington, Colorado in 1932 and moved to Oregon when he was a small child. Donald lived in Oregon until he joined the US Army.  He was an only child.  He is preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin Adamson and Vera Violet Bradley.DonRoberta2

 

Donald started traveling all over the world at an early age while serving his country in the US Army.  Donald retired from the US Army after serving his country for over 20 years.  He has served in the Korean War.  Through serving his country he has traveled to Germany, Korea, Vietnam, & Okinawa and all over the United States.

 

After his retirement from the military, he went to school at Green River Community College where he studied Law Enforcement.  Later, Donald & Roberta owned, a 7-11 Store in Kent, WA.  After a few years they decided to sell the store.  Then Donald went to work for Green River Community College as a custodian where he worked for 10 years before he retired in 1991..

 

During Donald’s retirement he loved to go fishing and watch sports (Especially the Seahawks, Sonics & Mariners). He also enjoyed watching his two grandchildren grow up.

 

He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather & friend to all that knew him.

 

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 8th at Tahoma National Cemetery at 11:15am, followed by a reception at Sherry Adamson’s house.  The address is: 26904 216th Ave SE; Maple Valley, WA  98038.
