Bettie Cicotte

Bettie Cicotte passed away peacefully on September 2, 2012 after a short but courageous third battle with cancer.

Bettie Cicotte, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, was born July 21, 1925 nee Bettie Jane Cunningham in Omaha Nebraska.  Married to Harry W. Cicotte from 1943 until his death in 1986,  she was also preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna (Lightfoot) Cunningham, her brother William, and her son Douglas.   She is survived by her son Russell (Carol) of San Diego, daughter Bev Koski of Everett, and Douglas’s wife Susan Cicotte.  She leaves three grandchildren Ann Campbell (Doug) of Poway, CA, Vincent Cicotte (Barbara) of LaConner, and Molly Cicotte of Seattle. She had four great grandchildren all of whom she adored, and countless friends.

She remained an active bridge player and golf enthusiast almost to the end of her life.  She had a hole in one in 1986, a feat not too many golfers ever attain. She enjoyed traveling.  She was an active volunteer with many organizations during her life, including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Assistance League of Seattle.  She leaves behind a large circle of friends who will miss her always upbeat attitude and her generous caring nature, always the first to smile and the first to start cleaning up after many a family party.

A small private family funeral was held on September 8th and a memorial / celebration of her life will be held at Kirkland Woman’s Club on October 6th from 3 – 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in your memory of Bettie, a truly selfless friend.
