Barbara Mae Tyburski née Steinberg born August 30, 1939, to Myron Oppenheimer Steinberg and Julia Mae Steinberg née Gray in Baltimore, Maryland, died on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Sammamish, WA, where she lived for the past 3 years. Prior to moving to Sammamish, she and her husband of 56 years, John Ronald Tyburski, had resided in Irmo, South Carolina.

Barbara and John helped build and were members of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Irmo, SC. It was there that Barbara taught Children’s Faith Formation and served as a eucharistic minister, lector, and Cub Scout Den Mother; they lived there for 46 years. She retired from Bank of America in 1998, where she had worked as an Administrative Assistant.

Barbara loved spending time with family and friends, old and new. She was known for providing food and hospitality to everyone. She was kind to everyone she met and loved caring for children.

She leaves behind her husband, their 2 sons and daughters-in-law John Christopher Tyburski (Kellie née Bourne) and David Mark Tyburski (PJ McBride), six grandchildren John Bryce Tyburski, Joshua Reid Tyburski (with his wife Megan née Crawford and their daughter Evalina Meadow Tyburski), Natalie Reese Tyburski, Julianna Christine Tyburski, Ryan Alexander Tyburski (with his wife Elif Ekin née Basbulak), and Chandler Allen Tyburski (with his fiancée Ashley Landers) as well as countless extended family and close friends.

Memorial services will be held Monday September 11th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sammamish, WA.

In lieu flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital () in Barbara’s name.
